The Mouldflo system

MOULDFLO
The Mouldflo system allows digital control of all flow paths in the mould and records flow and temperature data for each path.      • No water supply from the mold heater
     • Blocked water lines
     • Scale/rust formation
     • Connection errors in the piping system

For the distribution and control of the water flow in the cooling circuit, various methods are used today.
The most common method is the use of water flow controllers. While these flow controllers are economically attractive, they have a number of drawbacks:

     • Bulky and fragile, they must be mounted at some distance from the installation
     • Long pipes - reduced flow rate
     • Flow restriction
     • Broken manholes
     • Impossible to obtain actual flow values
     • Unreadable sightglasses due to oxidation
     • High level of maintenance.

The latest trend towards the use of aluminum distribution manifolds mounted on the plant or trays, which has definite flow advantages, still does not allow the casting operator to obtain visual indications of flows.
